What is Kahuna Bodywork?
The art of Kahuna Bodywork has evolved from ancient Hawaiian Kahuna principals and has become a relatively new and special modality in the therapeutic industry.
Kahuna Bodywork is based on movement. The required motion, positioning, leverage, posture, and focus in performing the bodywork are taught through a kahuna movement called Ka’alele au or ‘flying’. From the foundation and refinement of their own flying movements, the therapists techniques evolve and sequences are applied appropriate for the individual.
Working within the Kahuna principals transforms the therapists touch, movement and presence toward an open and intuitive intent within each session.

What to Expect
The kahuna bodywork involves massage and mobilation of the whole body. Principally the use of forearms and the hands are used over large areas of the body often with long continuous movement. The flow and speed may change depending on the needs of the individual and specific tightness found in the body. The movement is important for helping the mind to let go and relax allowing calm and balance to be established throughout the whole body.
A bodywork session often combines stretching and mobilisation of the major joints of the body and oil is used and applied to most areas. The mobilisation techniques are highly effective and have helped many to gain greater mobility and flexibility. Releasing physical tension from these areas may also release deep stress and trauma, which can often be habitually residing for long periods.
Kahuna bodywork targets the entire body fascial network ensuring re-alignment and balance in the body. Because the whole body is considered in one session it can leave you feeling grounded and resolved. The bodywork can also be very calming and feel deeply relaxing and can be ideal during difficult or stressful periods.

stretching, breathing…
Feels like being on the Ocean.."
